Writing Philosophy
I firmly believe that we are here on this Earth, not for ourselves, but for our community. I’ve seen time and time again, including times in my own life, where selfishness rules the decisions of people and they feel miserable. The times when I’m selfless are the times that I feel the best about myself and that seems to be illogical, but it’s true. As far as how this fits into my writing philosophy, it’s my whole reason for writing.
My afterlife quest series is, at its core, designed to help people navigate things like grief, generational trauma, and finding peace. My “functional” series, still in process at the time of writing this, is all about figuring out what is functional and dysfunctional for better mental wellness. I believe if we process our own traumas in a healthy way and with the help of our community, we can also help others do the same.
I’ll keep writing and attempting to help others even if I don’t gain financially. Even if writing is only a hobby for the rest of my life that I have to keep investing in, I believe it’s worth it. I hope something I write helps you in some way, even if it’s just with the knowledge that someone cares enough to try and help.
About the author.
I’m an author who is passionate about mental wellness and the world of fantastical storytelling. With a unique blend of creativity and empathy, I hope to write thought-provoking novels that help people process pain and trauma.
I’ve drawn inspiration from my personal experiences and extensive research, I aim to weave together themes of mental wellness and self-discovery in my works. I want to delve into the complexities of the mind, creating rich and relatable characters that resonate with readers on a deep emotional level.
While many authors explore the realms of fantasy, I’d like to bring a distinct perspective to the genre. Transporting readers to enchanting worlds filled with magic, mythical creatures, and epic adventures. Through my fantastical narratives, I hope to explore the profound themes of hope, resilience, and the power of imagination, all while shedding light on the importance of mental wellness and processing pain and trauma.
My commitment to mental wellness extends beyond my writing. I wish to actively engage with my readers and the community, advocating for mental health awareness and self-care. I hope my empathetic approach and dedication to uplifting others earn me a loyal following, with readers often turning to their books as a source of inspiration and solace.
I’ve been married since 2006 and have three awesome children. I live in Idaho and work in a career where I get to help people on a daily basis. I’ve got a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and it was during that course of study that I fell in love with mental wellness and psychological safety in the workplace. Please contact me anytime with questions or ideas, or if you just need someone to talk to.
With each new novel, I invite my readers on a journey of self-discovery, reminding them of the magic that exists both within and around us. There is always hope and there is always help.
